Happy New Year everyone! Today I am going to be sharing my goals both blog and personal for the month of January. I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday with your family and friends. I was home starting 12/22 and I can honestly say that I enjoyed every second of my stay-cation. I relaxed and watched Netflix like nobody’s business however I did get everything on my to do list accomplished while watching. In fact, while I was home, I thought it would be fun to share my list of 10 productive things you can do while binge watching Netflix.
I finally finished all seven seasons of Gilmore Girls and I am almost done with the third newest episode. I didn’t post much on social media during my vacation as I just wanted to take a little break. My son was excited for Christmas so much so that he couldn’t sleep much the night before. Although he is 15 years old, it was still so cute to see him anxious to open his gifts. We spent Christmas Eve at home and Christmas Day with my family. The day after Christmas we went to the outlets and we were home for the rest of the week.
A new month always means another chance to work harder in accomplishing your goals and to create new ones. There are a few goals from last year that I am still working on therefore they will be listed below and once again, many of my blog goals are similar to those from last year. As I’ve stated in previous posts, I am always ready to learn something new so this year I am going to sign up for as many webinars as I can and to listen to more motivating podcasts.
On that note, let’s get to it.
Introduction to Planner Talk – Last month, I created a new page here on my blog dedicated strictly to all things planner related. I will be posting pictures of my planner layouts and sharing reviews of any new planners and/or accessories that I recently heard about. The best part of creating this page is that I can collaborate with all of my planning friends (some of which are also bloggers so double the fun). This is the perfect opportunity to ask them to Guest Post on my blog to showcase their planner layouts and much more. If you’re a fellow planner girl and are interested in working together, send me an email so we can chat further!
Sponsorships – You can start the New Year with new leads to your blog/business by allowing me to advertise for you. In addition to advertising your business here on my blog, I will also broadcast on Twitter, post pictures on Instagram and talk about it on my Snapchat. If you are interested, you can visit my page for more information. If you have any further questions, you can send me an email so that we discuss your options.
Email Subscribers – I am still working on growing my email subscriber list. I am definitely going to learn new ways to encourage my readers to subscribe. I am looking forward to creating and sending newsletters and so much more. If you aren’t subscribed already, don’t forget to enter your email address in the box to the right so that you’ll always be the first to know when there is new and exciting content on the blog.
YouTube – This is one major blog goal that I have for this year. Again, I apologize for the lack of new videos however just know that I am working on my set up at home in regards to lighting, equipment, etc. You can still Subscribe to my channel to catch up on the videos that are there now and so that you will always know when I have posted a new video.
Instagram – It has take a while for me to get used to Instagram Stories however I will be making a conscious effort to post more of them. If you’re not following me already, head on over and hit that Follow button.
Planner for the new year – My planner girls understand the struggle that is involved in picking the perfect planner. A few things have changed in the last couple of weeks in regards to my choice of planners for the new year. I decided to return the large Black/White Recollections Planner and I purchased the mini Happy Planner instead. I am going to use the new Goals Planner by Recollections as my blog planner.
Fitness – Despite the cold weather and the fact that I was in full stay-cation mode, I did go to the gym a few times during my week off from work. Of course the gym was packed yesterday because of everyone’s “New Year, New Me” resolution. Ok I will admit that was me last year but it’s been a year since I joined and I will continue to make it my mission to get to the gym no less than twice a week. The cold weather is here but I won’t let that stop me.
Finances – This will be the year that I pay off any remaining credit cards and commit to keeping one. One of my major goals for this year is to get a new car. I love my corolla but I no longer want to drive stick shift. It has been over seven years and I am ready for a change. In order for me to attain this goal, this girl has to stop spending money. I’ve never been a big spender anyway but now I will be more conscious of where and how I spend my money.
Cook More / eat out less – I say this every year however I really need to stick to it not just because of the money factor but more importantly for health reasons. Sometimes eating out just stems from pure laziness and that’s the worse part about it. I cooked several times during my vacation and I made enough so that we could have leftovers the next day. The only time we ate out was if were were hanging out for the day and wouldn’t be home for a while. I made my Super Simply BBQ pulled chicken in the crock pot, my favorite orange cilantro chicken also in the crockpot (recipe coming soon), pork chops and a few other things that we like.
Well that wraps up my goals for the month of January. Now it is my turn to ask you what your goals are for the new month. Do you have any that you weren’t able to accomplish last year but will continue to work on this year? What are your thoughts as to how you are going to make them happen?
