How I Save Money When Shopping for Workout Clothes

Happy Wednesday! Today I am going to be sharing my tips on how you can save money when shopping for workout clothes and how to care for them properly. Everyone wants to wear the cute name brand workout apparel that they see in stores but not everyone can afford the hefty price tag. I have learned over the last couple of years that I can definitely find what I am looking for at much lower prices. I have also purchased sports bras that highly resemble those sold at Victoria’s Secret except for a fraction of the price. I did a similar blog post over a year ago so if you missed that one, you can check it out here.

I have had great luck scoring major deals when purchasing workout clothes at both the Under Armour and Nike Outlets, Aeropostale and Kohl’s. I have always been a bargain shopper and if you have read my blog from the beginning then you already know that I like to get more for my hard-earned money. Every time I visit the outlets, I spend very little for cute and quality workout apparel. You can also get some amazing deals at ROSS, TJ Maxx and Marshall’s so don’t forget to take some time to browse through their selection.

Here are some pictures that include all of the workout clothes that I have either purchased and/or received as gifts over the course of the last year. I will try to include links to as many items as possible. If I cannot find the exact item, I will share a link to something similar.

Don’t forget to check out the workout line at Old Navy and Forever21. I have purchased several items from Old Navy’s Active line and I am very impressed with the quality of their workout apparel. I recently went to Forever21 to check out their line of active wear and I was in awe when I browsed through their large selection of leggings, shorts, etc. and their price point is very affordable. I have yet to purchase anything from their line therefore I cannot comment on the quality just yet.

I am certain that you have watched tons of You Tube videos where almost everyone is wearing PINK from Victoria’s Secret so needless to say it has become a well-known brand of lounge wear and active wear. I love it just as much as the next girl but I refuse to pay full price for their items. I have learned that the best times to purchase clothes from PINK is to wait for Black Friday, day after Christmas sales, and their infamous semi-annual sales. Another way that you can get your own PINK gear is to ask for gift cards as birthday, graduation, and holidays gifts and hold off on using them until they have their major sales.

While shopping at different stores, I observed that many stores are now carrying apparel that closely resembles what you see at PINK stores at a much more affordable price. The stores that I am referring to are: Aeropostale, Target, Kohl’s, Forever21 and Walmart. While I cannot speak of the quality at two of these retailers, I can attest to the quality of the items that I have purchased at Aeropostale, Kohl’s and Target. I can honestly say that I have been impressed with everything that I have purchased at these stores.

**Keep in mind that the overall durability of the clothing ultimately relies on how you care for it per the washing instructions. I personally wash all of my active wear on the delicate cycle and I hang it all to air dry. I use a mesh laundering bag to wash my sports bras and I turn my workout leggings and tees inside out before washing. I use Tide laundry detergent with built-in fabric softener.

As you can see, I never spent more than $30 on one single clothing item. While the Victoria’s Secret Sports Bra and leggings were a birthday gift, I believe they were purchased during their 2 for $50.00 sale therefore that was definitely a bargain in itself as the leggings alone sell for close to $60.00.

Well that wraps up this quick post for today. I hope that you all have enjoyed my tips on how you can find cute workout apparel at affordable prices. I usually invest in key pieces such as a warm running jacket or hoodie but even then I have never spent more than $30 on a single item. The key is to not only find great bargains but to care for your clothing properly so that it will last you a long time.

Thank you. I always prefer to go to their outlet store because you can get so much more for your money. All of my clothes from their brand have lasted me several years.
