Hello everyone! Today I am going to be doing a quick review / first impression on the new Recollections Spiral Bound 12 Month Planner. I visited my local Michael’s for the first time today in quite some time. In the past couple of weeks, there have been a lot of pictures circulating around Instagram about these new planners. In case you didn’t know, Michael’s has jumped on the planner wagon and this is the second planner that they have created. All of my longtime planner friends can attest to the fact that this planner is an exact dupe of the Erin Condren Life Planner.
If you are new to my blog, then you probably didn’t know that the Erin Condren life planner was the very first planner when I started this planner journey in February of last year. If you want to read more about my journey into the planner world, you can check out that blog post here. The Erin Condren planner is a spiral bound planner that now comes in two different layouts: vertical and horizontal.
The Recollections Spiral bound planner was created to also have the same two layouts. The planner also comes in black / white layouts and colorful ones to coordinate with many different covers to choose from. The planners also come in particular themes such as: pregnancy, wedding, recipe, fitness and goals.
The best part of the Recollections brand is that the price point is much more affordable and if you have a coupon then you could purchase this planner for only $15! The Erin Condren planners start at $55 and higher depending color preferences and other special customizing options. You can purchase Erin Condren planners in select Staples stores however they still cost more than the Recollections planner. The Recollections planner is available in two sizes (7.5″ x 9.25″ and 9″ x 11.5″) in both the vertical and horizontal options. This planner is the larger one.
Contents:
174 pages // 424 Stickers // 1 Pocket Folder // 1 Zip Pocket
Includes: Monthly & Weekly calendar pages // divider pages with motivational quotes // pocket folder, zip pocket and stickers so that you can customize your pages.
REVIEW / FIRST IMPRESSION
The Recollections Spiral Bound Planner is a great planner regardless of which size you choose as it all depends on your own personal preference. The paper quality is very similar to that of the Erin Condren. The front and back cover are very sturdy as are the coils. I believe that Michael’s did a wonderful job with creating multiple designed covers and colors to choose from. I selected the black and white layout as I tend to keep my planner layouts simple with very minimal decoration however the colors of the stickers that are included are perfect for me.
Well I hope that you all have enjoyed my review of this new planner. If you have been contemplating purchasing this planner, don’t forget to bring your coupon with you so that you can take advantage of getting it at an even better price. The more money you save on the planner, the more you can spend on washi, etc. Sorry, I had to sneak that in there as us planner girls are known to be huge enablers. Planner humor at its finest!
So what do you think? Let me know in the comments below if you plan to buy one. Ha ha no pun intended.
Love your pics and thoughts! I bought three of these so far…the washi tape vertical one for my 2017 planner, the navy floral horizontal one for my 2017 Bible journal, and the unicorn vertical for my 7 year old daughter. I love them all and am so looking forward to finally getting to start using them soon!
I just bought one for my daughter and she loves it.
This is amazing! We don’t have Michaels in my country, but I would love to find a personal shopper someday so that I can experience using this planner too! Great review!
