Café de Las Tres – Current Faves | September Goals

Hey everyone! Yes, I know! I am late on posting my September goals but I have had so much going on that I just haven’t had a chance to blog about anything. Here we are approaching the middle of September and I’ve already had my first pumpkin swirl coffee from Dunkin!

I turned 41 last Friday and I had an amazing day off! I started the day with getting my first ever massage followed by lunch at my favorite place, then out to dinner and finally at home just relaxing all night watching…. you guessed it! Netflix! I know that I have been missing in action here on the blog. Truthfully, I’ve just been in a total blogging funk.

Much to my dismay, I just have not felt the least bit inspired to write and I know that sounds really bad but sometimes I just need to take a break. I felt super relieved the other day when I read a recent post by a fellow blogger named Summer (you can read more about her below) when she admitted that she has been feeling the same way. She also informed me that she knew of several other bloggers who have been feeling this way too.

Blogging can be very overwhelming so if I’m feeling like I need to take a break, I most definitely will do so. I know that frequent breaks can hurt my blog too but I’d rather take a break and come back refreshed than feeling like giving up. The overall stress and pressure we put on ourselves can eventually do more harm than good and we all know that’s a sign to chill out for a little while. I promise to slowly get back on the grind!

Before I get into the goals portion of today’s post, I wanted to take a moment to share three bloggers that I have been loving and seeking inspiration from for quite some time now.

Naty Michele – NatyMichele

I discovered Naty’s blog via Instagram and have been reading it for almost a year now or maybe a little bit more. She is an absolute sweetheart. She lives in the New Jersey/New York area. She’s an absolutely amazing writer and I love when she shares little bits and pieces of her life which she refers to as Life Chats on her blog. Sometimes her posts and IG stories get me all teary eyed because I can relate to her in so many ways as she shares some very special moments with her followers and it always reminds me of a similar memory of my own.

It takes a lot to share a truly personal side of yourself, believe me I know as I wrote the most difficult post and filmed the most emotional video ever a couple of months ago on my blog in memory of my Grandpa. She also gives some amazing advice to fellow bloggers which I also think is super awesome because she genuinely wants to help other bloggers such as myself succeed. Thank you Naty!

Kallie – But First Coffee

When I discovered Kallie’s blog on IG, I was super happy to see that she also lives here in Connecticut. She is constantly sharing blog advice to us newbie bloggers so much so that she actually created Caffeinate and Conquer which is a business designed to help other bloggers. She helped me tremendously last fall when I rebranded as I had a million questions and she never hesitated for a moment to help me. She recently shared a post about how I could find ways to share my blog more by using different hashtags and providing different ways that I could get exposure by promoting my blog more locally. I think another reason I enjoy following her on Snapchat is because she kills me with her sarcasm. Love it!

Summer – Coffee With Summer

Summer is yet another blogger that I discovered via IG. She is super sweet and always, always so helpful. A couple of months ago, I reached out to her for some advice and she did not hesitate in the least to provide some amazing advice and suggestions. She lives here in New England as well and she recently started blogging full time. She’s an amazing blogger who now offers blog and social media consultations to help other bloggers such as myself.

Before I continue, I wanted to take a moment to honor those who lost their lives on 9/11/2001 and thank you to all of the first responders.

Now let’s get continue with my current faves and super mini summary of my goals.

Current Favorites

TV – Netflix of course!

Switched at Birth was awesome.

I still need to catch up on the recent season of The Fosters.

I also started watching One Tree Hill again and I’m only at the end of the fifth season. I heard that Netflix is removing OTH from it’s lineup on October 1st so how in the H-E-Double Sticks am I gonna finish four seasons in a few weeks?

Regular TV

Grey’s Anatomy, Chicago Med, and Chicago Justice are coming back soon and I can’t wait!

I love Chicago PD also but I honestly don’t know if I am going to watch it this season since Sophia Bush left the show last season. She was my favorite and the reason I started watching the show since I loved her on One Tree Hill. Ok, I also started watching the show because of Jon Seda (aka Detective Dawson but thankfully now he’s on Chicago Justice!)

OMG, how can I forget Blue Bloods! Uh hello! Donnie Wahlberg and yes Tom Selleck too lol

Reading

Yes, I am still reading Leah’s book. If I’m not done by the end of this month, you can all ground me.

Now let’s get into the goals portion of this post, well kind of!

I typically share my goals at the start of every month however because of how I have been feeling lately, I hesitated even writing this post. I always keep it real with you so don’t be mad at me when I say that I barely scratched the surface of working on and/or reaching any of my goals for last month. I haven’t been completely neglecting my blog as I’ve been doing a few other things behind the blogging scene. After watching a couple of webinars reading some tips online, I decided to update some photos on my Pinterest and changing photos in a few of my older blog posts all while sneaking in a few posts here and there on IG and Snapchat.

Blog

Newsletter/Email Subscribers

I will continue to promote my blog newsletter. with the hopes of gaining new subscribers.  I only gained two last month and I didn’t let it discourage me because I still created and sent out the second volume of my newsletter a couple of weeks ago. If you haven’t subscribed to my newsletter yet, you can do so by clicking here. I’d love to have you join my team of TIL Insiders!

Social Media

I am going to continue to work on growing my Twitter following while making a conscious effort to post more on IG and Snapchat. If you are not following me on either one, you can do so by clicking here and here.

Guest Posts / Sponsorships / Reviews & Collaborations

I’d love to work with you to advertise your blog/business, have you as a guest on my blog and work together with your brand to form a collaboration. If you are interested in working together, please visit my contact page for more information.
