Hello everyone and Happy Tuesday! For all of the mommies out there, I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend and Mother’s Day. Today I wanted to share the details about how I spent my Mother’s Day. If you have been reading my blog for a while now and follow me on social media then you know that I have an awesome and very handsome fourteen year old son named Manny (Manuel). I only have one child and I am still coming to terms with the fact that he is now a teenager and much taller than I am. Can we just slow down time and make the growing stop please?
On Saturday evening, Manny and I took a short ride to get some ice cream. We sat in the car and chatted with my Grandmother via FaceTime for a little while. When we came home, he informed me that I shouldn’t make any plans for Sunday morning because he was going to take me to our favorite diner for breakfast and to do a little shopping afterwards. Needless to say, I became very excited!
On Sunday morning, I had my coffee in bed and just watched some Netflix. We got dressed and headed out around 10am. The diner is only one minute away from our home and thankfully we did not have to wait because it was very busy. We had an awesome breakfast together. Now that he’s getting older, our conversations are different and we laugh at a lot of the same things. We talked for a little and laughed for a while. I cherish all of the time that we spend together.
Afterwards we took a ride to both Target and Kohl’s. I did not see anything that immediately caught my attention at Target so we left and went to Kohl’s. They were having a huge sale and I had an extra twenty percent off coupon on my phone. As my gift from him, I picked out an adorable MARVEL Captain America themed pair of capri workout leggings and a simple graphic tee to go with it.
We went home shortly afterwards and just relaxed for a while. I stepped out to do the grocery and when I got back, we hung out together for the rest of the night. If you are a mom of a teenager, then you already know that anytime they want to spend time with you, take it and enjoy it! We watched some Netflix together for a little while and he ultimately fell asleep with his head leaning on my shoulder. I’ll forever cherish these moments that is until I woke him up and sent him to his own bed! LOL
As always, I love to hear from you. How was your Mother’s Day? Did you do anything special with your loved ones?Let me know in the comments below.
