August Goals | Currently

TGIF! I realized this morning that it was already time to share my goals for the month of August! First of all, how is it even possible that we are nearing the autumn season!

The bright side for me is I get to have my pumpkin coffee from Dunkin really soon! LOL. That’s about as much pumpkin lingo that you will hear from me but fall is definitely my favorite season.

Also, insanely enough my son will be starting his junior year of high school at the end of this month and turning 16 in two months. I’m not sure that I am even ready for that. Back to school means back to school shopping! I don’t even know where he wants to go shopping this year but either way, we will be relying on my trusty Retail Me Not app again to save some money this back to school shopping season.

Where have I been?

Up until last week, work has still been super busy. We had a major grant that was due and I was never happier than when the weekend arrived. As I stated last month, unfortunately blogging just was not at the top of my to do list simply because I was too tired. If you are a blogger who also works full time outside the home, then you totally understand the struggle. I give tons of credit to all who balance both also because it is not easy but so worth it in many ways.

 

Currently watching

You already know Netflix is my fave past time so I am almost done with the family drama Switched at Birth. It’s very similar to family show The Fosters as they also share many story lines which reflect everyday family issues. I am not sure as to what I will watch after I finish the next two seasons on Netflix. If you have any recommendations, please leave them in the comments below.

 

Currently reading

Truthfully, I haven’t even opened Leah Remini’s Troublemaker book since my last blog post. My eyes are so exhausted when I get home so when I try to read I just end up falling asleep. I’ll let you all know when I finally finish it.

 

Currently listening to

Anything besides Despacito! LOL. I had to throw that in there. If you follow me on Snapchat, you know that I am so utterly ready for that song to stop playing. I didn’t get a chance to like it because everywhere I turn or look, it was playing. The crazy part is that I am a fan of Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee but this song just didn’t make it to my playlist. Sorry but not sorry lol

Newsletter & Email Subscribers // Sending my second newsletter is my ultimate blogging goal for this weekend. Because I haven’t been blogging as often, I just didn’t have enough content to create a newsletter. Instagram // Truthfully, I am still beyond frustrated with this app and I know that I am not the only one. Can someone just hit a switch and make Instagram go back to the way it used to be? Again, I know that I should not let this discourage me however because it is my biggest following, my posts are still not receiving as much engagement as they were before. PERSONAL GOALS

Planner of the month // Well well, guess who made her way back to me! LOL.. Long story but Kate has returned and to welcome her home, I had to treat myself to some new planner goodies at Michael’s. I walked around for almost an hour however I reminded myself that I was only there to spend $20 or less and I did! I lasted a strong 7.5 months on my No Spend and anyone in the planner community can tell you that it’s not easy. I can only speak for myself when I say that it does get easier as the months go by but back to the grind I go.

Fitness // I plead the 5th on this one! Nothing going on here, yeap I said it. Nada, nothing! No gym, no walking and no biking. Can anyone send some motivation this way? Please & Thank you! I know, there are no excuses but I can’t even justify as to why I haven’t been active lately. I’m grounded, I know!

 

Finances // As I stated above, I am going back to the strict No Spend pattern that I set for myself. I spent a whole $15.00 at Michael’s and that was a wrap.  *Disclaimer: My no spend started right before the new year began and it consists of not spending money on planners, stationery, planner accessories, etc.

I am still using the Ibotta App to earn cash back on grocery and other purchases. All you have to do is scan a couple of bar codes, snap a pic of your receipt and that’s it! You can click here to sign up with my referral code and start earning money back. Once you have earned $20, you can withdraw the cash or redeem it with gift cards to your favorite stores.

    I hear you on the Instagram deal, I don’t know what the heck they did but I feel they messed it all up, ugh. By the way I hate that song too, everytime it comes up I have to quickly leave the room or tune in something else or I’ll end up signing it for the rest of the week!

    Don’t feel bad about not being able to work out, perhaps what you need is a new way to do it so you can get your motivation back!

      Aww thank you sweetie! I am super relieved to know that I am not the only person who is just fed up with it. It’s my biggest following yet it gives me the most aggravation. Truthfully, I have been spending a lot more time on Twitter to increase my following there and so far it’s working.

    Hey girl, for TV shows if reccomend dexter on Netflix if it’s still available and wentworth it’s really good! Also ugh yes despacito is o 24/7 it gets annoying when they play a song back on! And also I’m so proud of you girl shoot u know how hard it is not to spend money on things but you been doing good! I haven’t been working out much either thanks to me being outside 24/7 with the kids but I have been eating much better and swimming more ☺️

      Thanks for the recommendations. I am almost done with Ozark and I’m not sure I even like it but I’ve made it to the second to last episode so I might as well finish it lol.
