Hello everyone and welcome to my first beauty review of the new year. I am super excited about this post in particular as it is my first collaboration with another blogger. Today I am going to be doing a joint beauty review with my beautiful and amazing friend, beauty blogger and You Tuber Melissa also known as Primp and Prime Beauty. You can also find her on Instagram (@Melly_Cakez).
We both purchased the new GARNIER Micellar Cleansing Water around the same time. I’m going to give you my overall impression / review of the product first, then I am going to turn it over to Melissa so that you can read her review / thoughts about the product next.
Here’s how we came across the idea to do a joint review. A little over a week ago, I noticed that she posted a picture on Instagram of the GARNIER Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water which I also recently purchased. As soon as I saw the commercial, I went to Target about twenty times and no luck. I finally found it there after Christmas. She purchased the regular one with the pink cap.
I purchased the one with the blue cap which essentially is the same except that this one claims to remove waterproof mascara which is exactly what I need as that is the only type of mascara that I use. I reached out to her and asked if she would be interested in doing a joint review and well here we are!
For those of you who are new to my blog, let me start off by saying that for the past eight years, I have only used the products that I feel work best for my skin. I do try new things every now and then however I often return to the basics which for me would be NYX eye primer, Maybelline FIT concealer, Bare Minerals foundation and Cover Girl mascara. That’s it! Oh yeah, and lipstick or lipgloss too.
I heard about a similar product called Bioderma from another You Tuber however you could only get it online and the cost was a little more than I wanted to spend. When I heard about the Garnier Micellar water, I knew that the price point would be reasonable as it would be considered a drug store dupe for the Bioderma.
In my last updated skincare post, I indicated that I was using Neutrogena makeup remover wipes to remove my makeup in the evening before bed. As soon as I purchased the micellar water, I began to use them immediately in place of the remover wipes. I applied a small amount of the solution to a round cotton pad and began removing my eye makeup first. It quickly removed all traces of my waterproof mascara in only two swipes with the cotton pad on each eye. I then used a third cotton pad to remove the remainder of my makeup.
Review/ First impression
I am very pleased in how well it removed all of my makeup including the waterproof mascara. It quickly and efficiently removed it all with minimal effort and product. I only used three round cotton pads and very little of the product on each one. I did not experience any breakouts and/or skin reactions after using this product. The bottle contains 13.5 ounces and I paid $6.99 for it at Target. I believe that it is a very reasonable price for the amount of product that you get in the bottle.
I hope that you all enjoyed my mini review of the GARNIER Micellar Water and that I provided enough detail to encourage you to try it out for yourself.
Now I am gonna turn it over to my sweet blogging friend Melissa! You can check out her full review of the Garnier Micellar Water by clicking here as she goes into great detail about the ingredients and its benefits. That’s why she’s the more experienced beauty blogger! Awesome job Melissa on adding all of those extra and very informative details.
I hope that you have enjoyed our collaboration review and we hope that you subscribe to our blogs for future updates. Also, don’t forget to check out her video review on You Tube!
